Drivers in north-central Iowa are seeing some relief at the pump, but prices in a few towns are still slightly above the statewide average. According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and AAA, the state average for regular unleaded is $2.89 a gallon, down three cents from last week and 31 cents lower than a year ago. Diesel prices also dipped to $3.51, about 19 cents below the national average.

Locally, prices are a little higher. Stations in Grundy Center are showing $2.99 for regular unleaded, while Sheffield in Franklin County is reporting about $2.94, according to GasBuddy and AAA. Officials remind drivers that prices can vary by station and change quickly. For the most current numbers, check resources like AAA, GasBuddy or your local station apps.
