Franklin County Voters Prepare for City and School Elections Nov. 4

City/school elections in Franklin County are three weeks away, with several contested races on the ballot.

In Alexander, voters will choose between incumbent Mayor Thomas Schear and challenger Jason Christensen.

In Ackley, four candidates — Thomas Johnson, Steven L. Ackerman, Daniel Jason Scallon, and Michael Wessels — are competing for three seats on the city council. 

Dows also features a four-way race for three council seats, with Loren Lienemann, Craig E. Russell, Richard Mark Echelberger, and William A. Stuck all on the ballot. 

In Latimer, Catherine Crooks, Eric Bruns, and Jesse Anderson are running for two open seats on the city council.

Voters have three options to cast their ballots. Absentee ballot requests must be requested by Oct. 20 for those choosing to vote by mail. Early in-person voting is available at the Franklin County Courthouse from Oct. 15 through Nov. 3. Election Day voting will take place Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
