The Franklin County Board of Supervisors will meet in regular session Monday morning at 8:30 at the courthouse in Hampton.

Among the items on the agenda, Secondary Roads Engineer Jay Waddingham will present plans and specifications for a resurfacing project on County Road S56, running from Highway 57 north to Main Street in Geneva. The board will also set a proposed February 17, 2026, letting date for that project.

Supervisors will review drainage district minutes, claims, and several utility permit applications from Alliant Energy. County Treasurer Chad Murray will provide a departmental update, followed by the opening and potential awarding of bids for the county’s annual audit and snow removal contracts.

New business includes discussion and possible approval of claims, a resolution rescinding a previous courthouse repointing project, and authorization for the auditor’s office to stop payment on checks from prior fiscal years. The board will also consider financial support for an amicus brief in the case of Couser vs. Shelby County, being filed on behalf of the Iowa State Association of Counties.

The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Franklin County Courthouse and will be streamed live on the Board of Supervisor’s YouTube channel.
