The Hampton-Dumont School Board last week awarded 2025-26 snow removal bids to Swart Snow Removal, who submitted the only bid at $80 per time. The board also approved sanding bids for the buildings in Hampton to MP Backhoe LLC, who also submitted the only bid of $400 per time.
In other business, the Hampton-Dumont School Board approved quotes from Elite Construction for the remodel of the home high school stadium press box, including enclosing the grand stand to create storage. The board also discussed building a new visitor’s press box at the high school stadium. The board tabled action on the visitor’s press box but Superintendent Tim Felderman says the board has been working with local contractors to get that project started.
“So we worked to develop quotes for remodeling the press box, the old concession stand, and then building some additional storage underneath the grand stands, because you can never have enough storage, but how we can add on to all that. We’re also looking at cementing some areas to get people up out of the mud and just really make that a tremendous facility out there for our students and fans. So we’re going to continue to look at what can we do to add an additional coaches press box on the opposite side so we can utilize our home side more efficiently. But we’re also going to be looking as quotes come in for our softball diamond complex as well. We want to make sure that we’re providing the best facilities we can for our athletes.”
The board also tabled approval of the quote for softball field dugouts and crows nest.
Among other action items, the H-D board approved the at-risk and dropout prevention plan which ensures every student achieves long-term success and graduates on time. The board also approved the 2025-26 annual academic goals as recommended by the School Improvement Advisory Committee.
