First Bank Hampton, with support from the A.M. and Helen L. Saylor Foundation, has donated $5,300 to La Luz Centro Cultural to help sustain and enhance the organization’s essential community services.
The grant will support software maintenance, operational costs and the creation of a flexible emergency fund for clients facing urgent needs.
During the check presentation, First Bank Hampton Board Chairman Dave Heuberger said the bank wants La Luz to feel empowered to apply the funding where it will make the greatest impact, even beyond the areas identified in the grant application.
La Luz Director Janette Acolt expressed the organization’s appreciation, noting the support will help the nonprofit continue providing critical assistance while adapting to the evolving needs of its clients.
First Bank Hampton says its support reflects the bank’s commitment to fostering a stronger and more inclusive community.
