The Franklin County Board of Supervisors met Monday for a regular session at the courthouse in Hampton.
Supervisors gave approval to several items, including a utility permit for MidAmerican Energy to construct overhead power service to 1276 Olive Avenue for the NIACC Training Center, and the closure of Eagle Avenue between 70th and 80th streets, near Popejoy, for culvert construction.
The board also approved to provide $500 in financial support for an amicus brief in the case of Crouser vs. Shelby County, filed on behalf of Iowa State Association of Counties.
Supervisors unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing Operation Green Light for Veterans. As part of the observance, the courthouse clock tower will be illuminated green Nov. 4–11, as a symbol to honor the service and sacrifice of the men and women in uniform transitioning from Active Service.
The board also heard three repointing options for the courthouse structure from Bergland & Cram architects and approved a snow removal contract with Team Concrete.
