At Monday’s Sheffield City Council meeting, the council approved the first and second readings of Ordinance #196, updating the city’s noise pollution regulations and approved to waive the third reading.

The council reviewed asbestos removal and demolition bids for the former Marty’s Saloon building, approving an asbestos bid while postponing demolition pending grant details.

Discussion continued about adding a sidewalk in the city park and a handicap-accessible parking space, with cost estimates requested for December. The council also approved installing a 400W streetlight at the intersection of 250th Street and Highway 65.

Updates on the fiscal year 2026 budget amendment and employee insurance options were noted, with no immediate changes needed.
