Franklin Rural Electric Cooperative has announced expanded education opportunities for 2026, including updates to its scholarship program and the addition of a new scholarship aimed to support local students and members pursuing new career paths.

Franklin REC says scholarship opportunities are available to dependents of active cooperative members, including graduating high school seniors in the 2025–26 academic year, home-school equivalents and current post-secondary students. Multiple scholarships will be offered to support a variety of educational and career paths.

The cooperative is also introducing the Reignite Your Future Scholarship, which is designed for members seeking to restart their education or pursue a new career. The scholarship is intended to help with skill development, degree programs or job training.

In addition, Franklin REC is accepting applications for its 2026 Youth Tour. One high school sophomore or junior will be selected for an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where students will visit national landmarks, meet elected officials and learn about the cooperative business model. The Youth Tour is open to eligible students regardless of cooperative membership.
