The Rowan City Council will meet Monday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Rowan Community Center.
Several items are on the agenda under new business, including mayoral appointments and discussion with the city attorney regarding county maintenance on city streets and abandoned properties at 135 and 138 Main Street. The council will also receive annual reports and budgets from the Rowan Public Library and the Rowan Fire Department and is expected to appoint a fire chief.
Council members will consider several resolutions, including those related to payroll, mileage reimbursement, depositories, internal controls and the city’s investment policy for 2026.
