A 15-year-old Waterloo girl has died following a two-vehicle crash last week in Waterloo. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened just before 7:45 on the morning of January 6th. Authorities say a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Ciara Crisman of Waterloo, was traveling eastbound on when it pulled into the path of a southbound semi. The semi, driven by 35-year-old Travis Rink of Clarion, was pulling a trailer at the time. Crisman was wearing a seatbelt but was pronounced dead at the scene. Rink was not injured. Several agencies assisted at the scene, including the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkerton Police, as well as local fire and ambulance crews.
Authorities have not released additional details at this time as the crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
