
The #22 (1A) North Butler-Clarksville boys wrestling team finished in third place at the Clear Lake Invite on Saturday. NBC scored 147.5 points to finish behind runner-up Algona (214.5) and tournament champion North Fayette Valley (234).
The Wolves had five wrestlers earn top three finishes. Jaxon Shew placed second at 113 with a win by fall and decision, before a loss by decision in the first place match. Maddox Morrison placed second at 132 with two wins by fall before a loss by technical fall in the title bout. Brayden Harms placed second at 285 with two wins by fall before a loss by fall in the championship match.
Weston Miller placed third at 126. After falling in the quarterfinal, he won three straight matches by fall to secure the podium finish. Peyton Knoll was third at 165. After falling in the semifinal, he won by a fall and a decision to track down third place.
North Butler-Clarksville, in their next action, will host a Top of Iowa Conference quad on Thursday, January 15.
