The Iowa Falls-Alden will continue their final road trip of the regular season with a visit to Humboldt for a North Central Conference rematch on Friday. The Cadet girls won 59-53 and the Wildcat boys won 52-33 in their first meeting on January 9.

The Iowa Falls-Alden girls (10-8, 7-5 NCC) have won three in a row including a 46-38 win at Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Tuesday. Elody England sets the tone for the team with 19.8 points and 3.5 assists per game. Head Coach Michael Collison reflects on what the Cadets did well in the first meeting with the Wildcats.

“Humboldt is a team that we played one of our better games of the season, one of our better second halves of the season against them at home. They were up pretty big on us, I’m sure they feel like we kind of stole the game. They’re going to be excited to play,” says Collison. “They’ve got so much shooting, offense and a great player in Ava Fischer. We did a really good job in the second half on her, but in the first half was able to kind of score it well.”

The Humboldt girls (7-10, 3-8 NCC) are in the midst of a five game slide that included a 63-34 loss at Saint Edmond on Monday. Ava Fischer paces the team with 17.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

The Iowa Falls-Alden boys (2-15, 1-10 NCC) have lost back to back games including a 65-30 loss at Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Tuesday. Brody McNeal enters off a 10 point outing against the Bulldogs. The Cadets earn trips to the free throw line with 8.4 made per game (third most in the NCC).

The Humboldt boys (9-7, 5-5 NCC) have lost two straight including a 56-38 loss at Saint Edmond on Monday. Chase Flaherty leads the team with 12 points per game. The Wildcats offense knocks down 6.3 three pointers per game (second most in the NCC).
