Sheffield Council approves fiscal year 2027 fees, sets tax levy hearing

The Sheffield City Council met this past Monday, and reviewed updates from city departments and discussed several projects and proposals. The library reported maintaining its top-tier accreditation and receiving an additional $1,400 from the county for the next fiscal year.

Council members discussed options for the fiscal year 2027 TIF (tax increment financing) road projects, DNR recommendations for city pits, and potential solutions for lagoon violations, including researching an eco-friendly ultrasonic system. They also explored paths and bike lane improvements.

In new business, the council approved the next fiscal year fee schedule, set a public hearing for the proposed 2027 tax levy for April 1st, and authorized the placement of a donated community book house in the city park.
