The Iowa Falls-Alden boys basketball team will play a 2A District 3 first round playoff game at Osage Monday, which’ll air on 104.9 KLMJ.
The Cadets (2-19) will look to snap a six-game losing streak, which has consisted mostly of lopsided results. Head Coach Mike Holm describes keys to postseason success.
“We’ve done a good job lately of limiting our turnovers,” Holm says. “We’ve got to keep our turnover rate down. We have to rebound like we haven’t yet this year. We need to get out and really rebound if we’re going to compete. And we need to make baskets, that’s the key to most high school games. We really need some kids to step up and help out with the scoring load, and hopefully everything will come together for tournament time.”
They’ll look to increase their offensive efficiency after being held to 30 or fewer points in three of the last five games.
Osage (13-7) has lost two straight against Decorah and West Fork. They’re led by Quinn Street, who led the Top of Iowa-East in points per game, assists per game, steals per game and field goals per game during the regular season. He averages 23.8 points per game, along with 11.8 by Griffin Uhlenopp.
Pregame coverage will start at 6:45 p.m., followed by the tipoff at 7:00. The winner will advance to a district semifinal at Roland-Story.
