The Hampton-Dumont School Board on Monday received initial negotiation proposals for the 2026-2027 school year from both the Hampton-Dumont Education Association and the board of education.

The association’s proposal includes a 4.94% total package increase, while the board’s initial offer calls for a 2.13% total salary increase.

Board members also set a public hearing on the district’s fiscal year 2027 budget for March 23rd. A public hearing on the proposed 2026-2027 school calendar will also be held that day. The proposed calendar includes an August 24th start date for students, a two-week winter break and a one-week spring break.

In other action, the board approved a memorandum of understanding with Franklin County Emergency Management, allowing the agency access to school security cameras during emergencies on district property.
