The North Central District of the Iowa FFA held its annual convention Saturday, March 7 in Algona. Several local chapters were recognized for academic and national achievements.
Aplington-Parkersburg chapter members Ella Buttjer, Emma Haan, Ella Johnson, Jayden Krausman, Ellie Reints, Lizzy Rewarts, Isaac Schipper and Aubrey Williamson received academic achievement awards.
The Belmond-Klemme chapter was recognized as a superior national chapter. Members Christian Berry and Kylee Dorenkamp also received academic achievement awards.
The Dike-New Hartford chapter was also recognized as a superior national chapter award recipient.
Grundy Center chapter members Daniel Hommel, Lydia Hook and Matthew Luiken received academic achievement awards.
North Butler’s Drew Vorhes served as district secretary on the North Central District officer team this past year and was elected to a second term, this time serving as district vice president. Mikenzi Davis and Kylie Knoll also received academic achievement awards.
Local FFA chapters will next attend the 98th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference April 19–21 in Ames.
