Local North Central District FFA convention LDE event results

The North Central District of the Iowa FFA held its annual convention Saturday, March 7, in Algona, where members from several local chapters competed in leadership development event (LDE) contests.

Aplington-Parkersburg earned a first-place gold rating in the Chapter Program event to advance to state. Ella Buttjer also received a first-place gold rating and advanced to state in public speaking. Emma Haan earned a gold rating and was named a state alternate in the job interview contest. Layla Wessels received a gold rating in extemporaneous speaking, and Jade Klocke earned a silver rating in creed speaking.

Belmond-Klemme’s Amahia Hernandez received a bronze rating and advanced to state in the Spanish creed competition.

Clarksville’s Shaynah Ledtje received a gold rating and was named a state alternate for her secretary book.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows’ Adelynn Howell received a silver rating in extemporaneous speaking.

Dike-New Hartford earned a gold rating and advanced to state in parliamentary procedure, while the chapter’s conduct of chapter meetings team also received a gold rating. Olivia Klingenborg earned a gold rating in Ag broadcasting and advanced to state, while Baylen Brink received a gold rating in Ag sales and was named a state alternate. Macey Hermann received a silver rating in prepared public speaking.

Grundy Center received a silver rating in the Ag issues and perceptions contest.

North Butler’s Drew Vorhes earned a second-place gold rating and advanced to state in the job interview contest. Bailey Depuew received a silver rating in Ag sales, and Nora Miller earned a silver rating in the chapter website contest.

Local FFA chapters will next attend the 98th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference April 19–21 in Ames.
