The AP/DNH boys soccer team began its season by falling 4-3 at home to Clear Lake Monday.
A goal by Aiden Merrill midway through the first half was immediately answered by the Lions. Cooper Mulder added another goal a few minutes later for a 2-1 lead. With six minutes until halftime, Merrill connected on a deep shot for a 3-1 lead. Clear Lake answered to make it 3-2 at halftime, and the United didn’t score again. Clear Lake had the equalizer early in the second half, and scored the go-ahead goal with 23 minutes left.
AP/DNH will return to action Tuesday at Columbus Catholic at 5:30 p.m.
