
The Rowan City Council will meet Monday evening to conduct a public hearing on the city’s fiscal year 2027 budget and consider several items related to city operations.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Rowan Community Center.
Following the public hearing, council members are expected to take action on adopting the FY27 budget.
The council will also consider an ordinance which addresses regulations on discharging weapons within city limits.
Additional items on the agenda include discussion of a water assistant position, a resolution to update payroll and an update on a water department grant.
Officials will also review a proposed sales agreement for abandoned properties and consider a 28E agreement with the county for maintenance on city streets.
In other business, the council will address ongoing issues including septic systems, nuisance abatement and building permits.
