The Belmond City Council will hold a pair of meetings Monday evening, beginning with a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2026-27 property tax levy.
The special session is scheduled for 7 p.m. at City Hall and will focus solely on a public hearing for the proposed tax levy.
The council will then reconvene for its regular meeting at 7:05 p.m., where members are set to address several infrastructure and administrative items.
Among the key items is a public hearing on the wastewater treatment facility improvement project, followed by consideration of resolutions to approve project plans and award a construction contract.
Council members will also hold a public hearing on a proposal to repeal a previous ordinance tied to the residential urban renewal plan area.
In other business, the council will consider setting a public hearing date for the fiscal year 2026-27 budget, approving audit services for the next three fiscal years and reviewing a pay estimate for the aquatic center project.
Additional agenda items include a cemetery mowing contract, rental rate approvals for the RV park and shelter house, and a resolution authorizing an application for state funding assistance for the aquatic center project.
Both meetings will take place at Belmond City Hall.
