The Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys golf team began its season Thursday at the Des Moines Christian Invite. Competing at Jester Park Golf Course, the Bulldogs placed ninth with a score of 452. Caiden Heilskov finished with a team-best 99 strokes for 43rd place. Oliver Arenholz was 46th with 109, Gavin Rodemeyer was 50th with 121 and Madden Abbas was 51st with 123. They’ll return to action Tuesday for a home triangular.
The boys soccer team tied Humboldt 2-2 on the road. All four goals were scored in the first half, followed by a scoreless second half. Christian Zavala and Oziel Trevino scored the goals. Joseph Cruz recorded 11 saves. They’ll host Webster City Monday on 104.9 KLMJ.
