Each Hampton-Dumont-CAL spring sports team competed Tuesday.

The boys track & field team placed seventh at the Clear Lake Boys Invitational.

“It was a great night as far as the weather, there were some phenomenal athletes on the track tonight,” Head Coach Dan Aalbers says. “We had some good performances, but several of the events were the best in the state of any class tonight, which means it was a great competition. Beau Morton threw his personal best in the shot put. 53-7.25, I believe. That’s real nice. It might get him into Drake. He’s right on the edge with that. To give you some idea, Badyen Wrich ran a 23.02, which is gonna put him way up there on our top 15 list, and he got sixth behind some insane, some really good runners. So that’s a PR for him. And then Aaden Keehn ran a personal best in the 110 highs, 15.26, as well as a strong 400 low race. So we saw some really good things tonight. When you compete against the best, which is what we want, we want to compete against the best. You don’t always come out maybe as high as you want place-wise, but we had a lot of PRs tonight. So it was a good night for us.”

Top performers:
Aaden Keehn – 2nd in 110 hurdles
