The Clarksville City Council on April 20 approved a resolution taking action on a proposed general obligation fire truck acquisition loan agreement after holding a public hearing with no written or oral comments. Council members also approved an agreement with Fehr Graham Engineering for $23,800 and authorized Helmke Services to complete line striping work.
The council also reviewed a proposed ordinance change that would allow chickens in town, with city officials citing positive feedback and information from Iowa State University Extension. Council members approved changing city clean-up days to Aug. 6-8, setting employee wages until the full council is present and closing both sides of Greene Street from South Mather to South Elizabeth for about four hours on May 14 for a food truck and vendor event during Ladies Night.
