
The Hampton City Council will meet tonight at 6 p.m. at city hall with two public hearings and several resolutions on the agenda.
Council members are scheduled to hold public hearings on plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated cost for the Hampton Municipal Airport construct fuel farm project, as well as the fiscal year 2027 budget.
In new business, the council will consider awarding the April 2026 Image of Pride to Kimberly Vargas for property at 714 First St. NE. The council also is set to consider approving a grant contract with the Iowa Economic Development Authority for the 2026 Community Catalyst and Building Remediation Grant tied to 4 1st St NW.
The council also will consider the third and final reading of an ordinance amending city code regulations for keeping chickens within city limits, along with a resolution setting permit fees for chickens. Additional resolutions involve accepting a bid and contract related to federal funding for the airport fuel farm project and adopting the annual budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027.
