Next Friday, May 1, downtown Iowa Falls will do something it’s never quite done before, turn its own zip code into a celebration.

The event, called “50126,” is a direct nod to the community’s mailing identity, but organizers say it represents more than numbers on an envelope. Jeff Burchfield, Iowa Falls Chamber/Main Street Administrative Assistant, says it’s about highlighting the people and pride behind that number.

“‘50126’ is our zip code, but May 1st, 2026, we’re going to have a downtown street block party celebration to celebrate the zip code, the area, the date and showcase our downtown. Looking forward to a great night. Here in Iowa Falls, we’ll have local restaurants that’ll be open in the event area. We’ll have food trucks. Some of our local businesses will be open as well. So again, really an opportunity to showcase our community.”

“50126” will bring live music, food trucks, drinks, and fun to Washington Avenue. Headlining the night are The Pork Tornadoes and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, bringing high-energy sets designed to keep the crowd moving through the evening.

Burchfield says “50126” will shine a spotlight on downtown Iowa Falls and the local businesses that call it home.

“Well, obviously our downtown is just beautiful. You can come around from a variety of different communities, drive through the downtown area that is 50126, the zip code, and we can see storefronts that are all filled, vibrant businesses, local eating establishments that really speak to everything that Iowa Falls has to offer.”

Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with the street activated as a walkable festival space running from Estes Street on the north, Highway 65 on the east, and Main Street on the west.
