
Hampton-Dumont-CAL and Iowa Falls-Alden tied for third place with 13 team points at Wednesday’s North Central Conference Boys Tennis Tournament at Webster City. They finished behind Clear Lake and champion Nevada.
In singles flight 1, Hampton-Dumont-CAL’s Andyn White placed fifth. After falling in his opening match, he defeated Josh Abbiehl of St. Edmond 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth place match. Iowa Falls-Alden’s Carter Zollar was fourth, advancing to the third place match but falling 6-3, 6-3 to Hayden Shear of Clear Lake.
Hampton-Dumont-CAL’s Keaton Gunderson placed third in singles flight 2. He fell in the semifinals but defeated Sage Bock of Webster City 6-4, 6-2 in the third place match.
In doubles flight 1, Tristan Kappel/Isaiah Nelson of Iowa Falls-Alden placed third. They fell in the semifinals, but defeated St. Edmond 6-1, 6-4 in the third place match. Dominic Nicholson/Nicholas Quasdorf of Hampton-Dumont-CAL placed fifth. They fell in the first round, but defeated Webster City 7-5, 0-6, 1-0 (10-6) in the fifth place match.
In doubles flight 2, Ivan Klimesh/Palmer of Iowa Falls-Alden placed third. After falling in the semifinals, they won the third place match 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3) over Noe Flores/Jack Hindin of Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
