
The Hampton City Council approved several items related to upcoming city projects during its regular meeting Thursday.
The council held a public hearing on the plans, specifications, form of contract and cost estimate for storefront stabilization work at 4 and 6 First St. NW. No written or oral objections were received. Council members later approved a resolution adopting the plans, specifications, form of contract and cost estimate for the project.
The council also approved an agreement with ISG for consulting services for the storefront stabilization project. A separate resolution to award the construction contract was tabled until the council’s May 28 meeting.
In other business, the council approved the city’s Wellmark health insurance renewal for fiscal year 2027, with the employee contribution remaining at 13%.
Police Chief Mark Morrison introduced new officer Todd Dolan during staff reports. Mayor Steve Birdsall administered the oath of office to Dolan immediately after the meeting.
