Homes for Iowa marked a major milestone recently with the placement of its 150th home in Mason City through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of North Central Iowa.

The home is part of Habitat’s Madison Heights pocket neighborhood, located on the former Madison School site, and will become the residence of a single mother and her two children. It is the seventh of 13 single-family homes planned for the development, which includes partnerships with the local school district, the NIACC Building Trades class and other community groups.

Since its first delivery in 2020, Homes for Iowa has placed homes in more than 50 Iowa counties. Habitat for Humanity of North Central Iowa has provided homes for 85 adults and 157 children since 1994 and plans to close on eight additional homeownership projects in the coming months.
