A Dows man has been charged with multiple felony offenses following a traffic stop and subsequent investigation in Hamilton County.

In a press release sent Monday, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says Jeffrey Dean Fieseler of Dows was stopped on Interstate 35 at approximately 1:15 p.m. Friday, January 9th for a traffic violation. He was issued a warning and agreed to a sex offender compliance check due to his registered status.

During that check, a Hamilton County deputy discovered an unregistered email account on Fieseler’s cellphone. Sex offender registry requirements mandate that all accounts be registered. Fieseler was arrested for a sex offender registry violation, second or subsequent offense, and transported to the Hamilton County Jail. He was later released after completing his initial court appearance.

The arrest led to a further investigation, including a search warrant for Fieseler’s phone. Investigators say additional violations were uncovered, resulting in further arrest warrants.

In total, Fieseler faces four counts of sexual offender registration violation, second or subsequent offense, each a Class D felony; one count of purchase or possession of a depiction of a minor in a sex act, second or subsequent offense, a Class C felony; and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, a Class B felony.

The case remains under investigation. No additional details are available at this time.
