The Iowa Falls School Board met Monday and spent much of the meeting reviewing district finances, school calendar planning and construction updates at the high school.

The board reviewed projected budget figures and the impact of state supplemental aid, noting the district would need a 1.93% increase to break even. Superintendent Tony Neumann says Governor Kim Reynolds’ proposed 2% increase would result in a slight increase of about $5,000 on the district’s $16 million budget.

The board also reviewed calendar options for the 2026–27 school year, including variations around Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks, along with the first and last days of school. No action was taken, with plans to approve a calendar mirroring the current year at a joint meeting with the Alden School Board next month.

Neumann also provided an update on high school projects, including office renovations and new locker rooms. He said additional delays have occurred, but the district is hopeful the work will be completed by mid-February.
