Foot Chase Leads to Arrest in Hampton

A Hampton man was arrested for a third OWI after taking the police on a foot chase, leading them to his home, on Thursday evening.

According to the Hampton Police Department, Yester Montecillos Vasquez, 27, of Hampton was initially stopped in the 500 block of 4th St NE, where he then fled from his vehicle and a foot chase ensued. He was later found near his home in the 200 block of 12th Ave NE, where he was arrested.

Vasquez is now facing charges for driving while barred, interference with official acts and operating while under the influence – third offense.

He is currently being held at the Franklin County law enforcement center, as he awaits his initial court hearing.
