The Franklin County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday, April 28 to address a range of county matters. The board approved the agenda and prior meeting minutes before hearing updates from multiple departments, including IT, Secondary Roads, Conservation, and Planning & Zoning.

Supervisors adopted the fiscal year 2027 secondary roads budget and five-year construction program, meeting state requirements. Concerns were also raised about road damage caused by battery storage construction, leading to discussion of requiring road use agreements for future energy projects.

Financial topics included a possible switch in the county’s credit card provider. The board approved funding agreements with the Hampton Senior Center and Healthy Harvest of North Iowa, as well as a $35,250 contract with All Iowa Roofing of Des Moines for roof replacement at GAR Memorial Hall.
