An Aplington-Parkersburg High School senior has received a $2,500 scholarship from Basin Electric Power Cooperative.
Butler County REC says Holly Haugstad of Aplington was awarded the scholarship from Basin Electric Power Cooperative, based in Bismarck, North Dakota. Haugstad plans to attend Northwestern College in Orange City to pursue a degree in accounting.
Each year, dependents of Butler County REC members and employees are eligible to apply for scholarships from Basin Electric Power Cooperative. The scholarships are designed to encourage and recognize students who live on electric cooperative lines.
Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll full time in a graduate or undergraduate program at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational or technical school.
The scholarship is awarded without regard to other awards, loans or financial assistance. The award is based on grade-point average, work experience and participation in school and community activities.
