The West Fork boys golf team and North Butler girls golf team earned team wins Tuesday at a co-ed triangular at Ridge Stone Golf Club in Sheffield.
West Fork won the boys side with a team score of 170. North Butler finished third with a 189.
West Fork’s Levi Staudt earned first place medalist honors, while teammate Aiden Rembe was runner-up. Staudt says the Warhawks put together a strong team round as the conference meet approaches.
“Tough meet. Gotta walk out with low scores all around,” Staudt says. “Can’t be shooting high scores as a team later on in the season. You gotta find something. Shot good today as a team. Four strokes off our best on the year. Think it’s uphill from here.”
On the girls side, North Butler won the team title with a 207. West Fork finished second with a 212.
West Fork’s Brooke Rother earned first place medalist honors. North Butler’s Zoey Thompson was runner-up. Thompson says she enjoyed the course and the competition.
“I really like this course. I haven’t golfed here before, but I enjoyed it,” says Thompson. “Like, I like golfing at new courses to get a new feel for things, and then I had a great time golfing with Brooke. She’s really great, pushes me to be my best too.”
North Butler and West Fork return to the course on Friday when they play each other at Round Grove Golf and Country Club.
