
The IGHSAU golf postseason began Friday with first round regional meets in Classes 1A and 2A.
In 2A Region 3A at Roland-Story, Grundy Center placed second with 359 strokes to advance to the regional final. Reagan Pekarek led the Spartans with 82 strokes to place third, followed by Riley Whitehill in fourth with 85. Macey Kiewiet was 12th with 94 and Adalynn VanZuuk was 14th with 98. They’ve advanced to the Region 3 final at West Marshall.
In 2A Region 4A at North Fayette Valley, Dike-New Hartford’s Keely Kauten placed fifth with 88 strokes to advance to the Region 4 final at Columbus Catholic.
In 1A Region 4B at Tripoli, North Butler placed first with a score of 391 to advance. Amelia Thomson was the individual winner with 88 strokes, Zoey Thompson was second with 93, Hannah Nichols was eighth with 98 and Adalee Ramker was tied for 24th with 42. Individually, Clarksville’s Capri Clark placed fourth with 95 strokes to advance. They’ll compete at the Region 4 final at South Winneshiek.
In 1A Region 1C at GTRA, Belmond-Klemme’s Ayslee Pals placed fifth with 95 strokes, advancing to the Region 1 final at South O’Brien.
In 1A Region 3B at South Hamilton, AGWSR’s Aniya Vogel placed fifth with 96 strokes to advance to the Region 3 final at North Mahaska.
The regional final meets will be Wednesday, May 20.
