The #1 (2A) Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys wrestling team went 2-1 and Hampton-Dumont-CAL went 1-2 at the Glen Brand Duals hosted by the Cowboys on Saturday.
CGD won against Ballard (67-12) and West Marshall (55-21) and lost to #2 (2A) Decorah (38-32).
Against Ballard, five Cowboys won by fall, including Reed Campbell at 144, Dawson Beyer at 150, Ryland Morgan at 165, Easton Beyer at 175 and JT Kelso at 285. Paxton Redenius at 120, Ryan Hartwig at 138 and Traesyn Cope at 215 each won by technical fall. Colin Sesker at 157 won by a major decision.
Against West Marshall, seven Cowboys won by fall, including Cole Wibholm at 106, Hartwig at 138, Sesker at 157, Morgan at 165, Easton Beyer at 175, Traesyn Cope at 215 and Kelso at 285. Redenius at 120 won by technical fall. Adrian Phetxoumphone at 126 and Dawson Beyer at 150 each won by major decision.
Against Decorah, Redenius at 120 and Phetxoumphone at 126 won by fall. Wibholm at 106 and Sesker at 157 each won by major decision. Estuardo Lopez at 113 and Morgan at 165 each won by decision.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, in their next action, will host a quad on Thursday, January 15.
HD-CAL won against Ballard (64-14), lost to Decorah (70-12) and West Marshall (36-36); the Trojans won via a first points tiebreaker.
