Two road projects are affecting travel in the area, according to Iowa DOT Field Services Coordinator Pete Hjelmstad.

An asphalt overlay project is underway along Highway 3 near Rowan, from the Franklin County–Wright County line, west to Highway 69 in Wright County. Traffic is being maintained with a pilot car and flaggers during working hours, though drivers should expect intermittent lane closures and delays. Work is scheduled during daytime and early evening hours, with the project expected to wrap up in late August.

Meanwhile, a bridge replacement project is planned along Highway 65 between Sheffield and Rockwell. Hjelmstad says a long-term closure is expected to begin in mid-May. While the road was closed last week for preliminary work, the contractor has notified the DOT that an additional closure that had been anticipated this week will no longer be needed.
