The 98th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference was held last week at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, where Iowa FFA Degree recipients were announced April 21.

The Iowa FFA Degree is the highest degree awarded by the Iowa FFA Association. According to Iowa FFA, only about 5% of members receive the degree each year.

To qualify, members must meet several requirements, including at least 24 months of active FFA membership, two years of agricultural education instruction, a satisfactory scholastic record, demonstrated leadership and at least 25 hours of community service. Members also must complete a supervised agricultural experience requirement, either by earning and productively investing at least $1,500 or working at least 375 hours.

Locally, 29 FFA members from eight chapters in the RadioOnTheGo News listening area received the degree.
