Three vehicles were involved in a crash Wednesday just before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of First Street Southeast and Fourth Avenue Southeast in Hampton, causing an estimated $30,000 in damage.

According to the Hampton Police Department, a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Sara Jorges of Hampton was traveling southbound on First Street Southeast, while a pickup driven by 64-year-old Thomas Thompson of Rowan was traveling westbound on Fourth Avenue Southeast.

Police say the two vehicles collided in the intersection, causing Thompson’s pickup and utility trailer to jackknife. The trailer then struck a legally parked cargo van nearby.

Authorities say Jorges’ 2014 Dodge Journey sustained an estimated $10,000 in damage, while Thompson’s 2017 Ram pickup and trailer sustained about $15,000 in damage. The parked 2004 Chevrolet Express cargo van sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage.

No injuries were reported.
