Falcon H.O.P.E. is hosting a Feed My Starving Children mobile pack this weekend at Bethel Reformed Church. Organizing director Matthew Klahsen says they’re hoping to pack over 100,000 meals.

“Each session will be around 100 people,” Klahsen says. “We actually have the AP middle schoolers get to come out and do it on Friday. But our goal for the whole weekend, we’re going to shoot for around 108,000 meals packed. Those will be sent all over to different partners of Feed My Starving Children. We will be at about 500 people, and we’re looking to pack about 108,000 meals.”

Volunteers are needed for several shifts on Friday and Saturday, including set-up, packing and clean-up. Klahsen says people of nearly any age can help.

“There will be about roughly 10 people to a station, and that’s where you will measure out the ingredients, put them in a bag, someone will seal them, and then they’ll put them in a box and then we’ll put them on pallets. We’ll play some music, there’ll be people yelling and cheering when they get boxes full, and so it’s just a fun atmosphere. We can have kids as little as five years old, and if older people that maybe can’t stand, there will be some sit down jobs, putting labels on bags. So it’s really a thing for anyone.”

Volunteers are asked to sign up in advance for shifts of two hours. Find out how to do so at radioonthego.com. As a Christian nonprofit organization, Feed My Starving Children is called to feed God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit.

Falcon H.O.P.E. hosts several events throughout the year, including packing events, community meals, and more.
