The Aplington City Council adopted the city’s fiscal year 2027 budget during a special meeting Monday.
The meeting included a public hearing on the proposed budget. No public comments were received, and the hearing was closed before council members unanimously approved a resolution adopting the budget and certifying city taxes for fiscal year 2027.
Council members also discussed an insurance claim involving the city’s 2016 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor. The council voted unanimously to buy back the vehicle and complete the needed repairs.
