DNH takes runner-up at Lady Simons Relays, other locals earn top spots

The Dike-New Hartford girls track & field team finished four points behind Waverly-Shell Rock to place second at the Lady Simons Relays on their home track. Grundy Center was fourth, North Butler was seventh and Clarksville was 15th.

DNH Coach Rachael Cheeseman says they had some lineup adjustments, but performed well nevertheless.

The shuttle hurdle relay team of Laney Brinkman, Claire McCandless, Linde Fleshner and Alexis Rose placed third. With the fifth-best time in Class 1A, Brinkman and Rose say the goal is to continue improving and earn a podium spot at the state meet
